Paper Piecing Layout

Welcome! I am so glad you are here!  This layout, features my little granddaughter, at 5 months, and a fun, ribbon stitched, paper pieced heart.  πŸ’–

Our layout is built on one of the papers from the ever versatile Basic Fundamentals paper pack.  I love how subtle this paper is!  I matted my photos and journaling card with Bashful Cardstock.

To make my heart, I quickly cut five hearts using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and the Artbooking cartridge.  I then clipped 4 of the hearts together, and cut them, reserving one for the base.  You'll want to make sure they stay lined up for ease of assembly, so definitely keep them clipped while cutting!

After they are cut, arrange them on your base layer in the order you'd like. Good, old fashioned paper piecing!  I used regular Tombow adhesive to do this.  I then used my Paper Piercing Tool to poke a hole in the center, and then one along the perimeter at each paper change.

Piercing the paper prior to threading your ribbon makes it so much easier! πŸ˜‰ The White & Gold Ribbon, is cotton with a metallic gold stripe, was my go-to for this layout.  As you know, a touch a bling to layouts and cards, is always welcome!
This ribbon, accenting the delightful patterns from the Adventure and Whimsy Fundamentals paper collections, adds a delightful  touch of sparkle!

"Love" is stamped with Pixie ink using the What Matters Most stamp set.
I also used cardstock weight stickers, included in the Basic Fundamentals' Better Together Complements.

My journaling box will allow me to write what was important about this wonderful visit my husband and I had with our little granddaughter.

I do hope you are chronicling your life in some manner, because if you don't tell your story, who will?  You are not only doing this for yourself, but more importantly, your loved ones.πŸ’–

Until next time --

Thank you so much for visiting!  YOU are appreciated!  I enjoy hearing from you and look forward to helping you as you travel along life's journey celebrating relationships with all of your papercrafting and memory keeping needs.  πŸ’–

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Papercrafting,
