Spruced Up Cards & Layouts

Welcome!  Creating cards for loved ones and layouts for treasured memories certainly warms the heart!   When I first saw these beautiful birds in the Spruced Up Creative Collection I was excited to purchase them so I could get to work -- play -- with them!  😊

Our sweet little bird was stamped with Espresso Pigment Ink, heat embossed using Clear Embossing Powder, then a couple shades of light brown watercolor pencils with a light wash of the Clear Shimmer Brush for blending completed his look!

For his perch, I used both Fern and Evergreen inks with just a touch of dots of Red Shimmer Brush to bring the red berries out of the coordinating paper.

Not all Stamp Sets come with Thin Cuts, but when given the option, these bundled sets are always a great deal! It provides for a quick, clean cut to be able to pop your stamped image up with foam tape to add dimension to your project.  They are super simple to use!  Just layer them over your paper and run them through your favorite die cutting machine!

When using Thin Cuts, one of the questions that folks often ask is whether to stamp first, and then align Thin Cut over image to cut, or to cut and then stamp.  Well, this truly is just a matter of personal preference!  Sometimes I stamp first, then cut, and sometimes the other way around!

A tip for stamping first and then cutting, especially if your image is quite detailed, add a bit of washi tape or drafting tape to hold Thin Cut in place while you run it through your cutting machine.  😉

Here's just a few of my Spruced Up cards, along with a couple of layouts, ready for treasured photos and comments.

During February 2020, our Stamptacular Sale is happening, and it includes this set, and so much more!  Stamps as low as $2.50 and great deals on stamp/thin cut bundles!

  2. Very pretty cards; I have always stamped first and then cut and I do use washi tape to hold them in place. I'm going too have to try cutting first now just to see which way I prefer. Pinned.
