Playing With Thin Cuts

Starry Night Castle Card

Welcome!  I'm so glad you have stopped by! 😊 I absolutely love this Princess Castle Stamp and Thin Cut set--it is so adorable!  Think of the possible uses--birthday, celebratory, cards, memory books, Disney visits, etc.!!!

Using my trusty Sizzix Big Kick, I easily cut my White Cardstock with the metal Princess Castle die.  After cutting, I stamped the castle with Archival Black Ink.

I enjoyed adding hints of color with the Watercolor Pencils and the Clear Shimmer Brush.  These pencils go on like a dream, and are great with or without the blending with water or shimmer.
With the use of the Archival Ink, there was no fear of smearing the crisp stamped lines. 😊 Happy dance!

To create the background for my castle, I cut a piece of starry night paper to match both the front of my card base, and the inside front.  The starry night pattern is one of 12 designs in the Into the Wild Paper Packet.

The medium size Stitched Square Frame Thin Cut was just the size I wanted for my opening.  I cut the card base first, and adhered a piece of white tulle I had on hand, over this opening.  Once that was done, I simply built my card layers.

First, adhere Starry night paper to front, then position the castle and stitched frame.  Adhere just the lower edge of the castle behind the stitched frame piece in front of the tulle, as shown in the above photo.

You'll then adhere the starry night paper on the interior of the front of the card.  Doesn't the tulle add a fun touch?  I think that a beautiful vellum would also give a similar look.

After the front of the card was finished, I created a random pattern of stars using the star stamps included with the castle stamp set.  Then, my 'Let's Celebrate' sentiment was stamped using Sapphire Ink on Ballerina Cardstock.  This sentiment is part of this One Year Older set.

Why not try your hand at creating a fun cut-out card to brighten someone's day?  😊
